Client: Save-A-Beat
My Role: E-Learning Developer, Storyboard
Context:
Save-a-Beat is a training site that delivers a variety of medical courses to pre-health students. As of now, all of their trainings are in person, and they would like to begin to offer part of the material outline as a self-paced course. I collaborated with SME to build and develop a online training course on phlebotomy technician.
Challenge:
The company not only wanted to be able to offer the material online in order to expand their business, but they also wanted to organize the learning material in a more interactive and engaging way to target various audiences. The original presentation was very monotonous and lengthy, therefore students constantly struggled with comprehension.
Solution:
Instead of passively receiving information, learners were able to interact with the material presented in different ways. This led to immediate feedback, allowing learners to correct their understanding or performance in real-time. This helped in reinforcing correct concepts and addressing misconceptions quickly.
Result:
The learner is more likely to grasp the learning information and become a great phlebotomy technician. Several students have reviewed the course and have shown more interests in the topic and the learner experience. By the end of the course, they have comprehended the information needed to pass the quiz.
